1. Overview & Core Privacy Guarantee

OpcVue is an industrial Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control client for OPC-UA (IEC 62541) and Modbus TCP/IP automation systems.

We respect your privacy. OpcVue is architected with a strict zero-data-collection principle: your industrial telemetry, PLC endpoints, device credentials, and machine configurations never leave your physical device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike cloud aggregators or web-based SCADA systems, OpcVue operates completely client-side:

• No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or user identities.
• No Industrial Telemetry Logging: Sensor values, register states, setpoints, and alarm flags are processed locally in real-time RAM and are never uploaded to any remote server.
• No Location Tracking: The application does not access or request GPS or geographic location permissions.
• No Analytics or Ad Trackers: OpcVue contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral tracking trackers, or telemetry beacons.

3. Local Device Data Storage & Security

All project profiles and configuration files remain 100% on your device under strict hardware-backed sandboxing:

• PLC Credentials & Passwords: Passwords and basic authentication credentials are encrypted locally using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences backed by the hardware Android KeyStore.
• Cryptographic Certificates: OPC-UA X.509 RSA certificates and private keys are generated and stored exclusively within the device's hardware security module.
• Dashboard Snapshots: Machine layouts and widget configurations are saved to the app's sandboxed SQLite database and local automated JSON snapshots.

4. Network Permissions & Direct Socket Usage

OpcVue requests standard Android network permissions (android.permission.INTERNET and android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) solely to:

• Establish direct, raw TCP/IP socket connections to your designated local or remote industrial PLCs (e.g. TCP Port 4840 for OPC-UA and Port 502 for Modbus TCP).
• No network traffic is ever proxied, relayed, or mirrored through intermediate cloud servers.

5. In-App Purchases & Google Play Billing

Optional Pro licenses and subscriptions are processed exclusively through the official Google Play In-App Billing API. Payment processing is handled entirely by Google LLC. OpcVue never accesses, processes, or stores your credit card numbers or financial details.

6. Data Deletion & User Control

You maintain full control of your data at all times. Uninstalling the application or selecting "Clear Storage" in Android Settings permanently and immediately erases all stored profiles, certificates, and dashboard layouts from the device.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

OpcVue is a specialized technical tool for industrial automation engineers and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
